Imagine green grasslands flourish below the summits of the three biggest mountains around Manali. And hidden in these grasslands is the emerald lake out of which the river Beas emerges. The Beas Kund trail offers you close, base-to-summit views of big mountains of Manali like Friendship Peak, Shitidhar, Ladakhi and Hanuman Tibba. It is believed that Rishi Vyas, who wrote the Mahabharata
took his daily bath in this lake. It’s possible that the term Beas Kund has been derived from Vyas, the sage; and Kund, a lake.

Hold the green meadows under the peaks of the three largest mountains around Manali. And the emerald lake hidden in these meadows originates the Beas River. From the base to the summit, the Beas Kund Footpath offers a panoramic view of the great mountains of Manali, such as Maitri Shikhar, Shitidhar, Ladakhi and Hanuman Tibba. Vyasa, who wrote the Mahabharata, is believed to have in the lake. The word Vyasa Kund is derived from the sage Vyasa; and pool, a lake.
